My husband isn’t a big sweets eater, but when he has a taste for something sweet, it’s usually apple pie, blueberry muffins, cheesecake, lemon meringue pie, or pound cake. Nothing with frosting on it. Just plain pastries. He does occasionally enjoy the donuts with the jelly filling as well, but I’m not fond of those.
So he asked me to make him a blueberry pound cake. After researching it, I discovered that blueberry and lemon bring out each other’s flavor, so I made a blueberry-lemon pound cake. The recipe was adapted from Allrecipes.com – http://allrecipes.com/recipe/blueberry-pound-cake/
I added lemon flavoring to this cake, but the next time I make it I’ll add lemon juice and lemon zest instead.
